Let’s get the party started by diving into the details of ‘branding’ and ‘marketing’!

Branding is the ‘Bam!’ Marketing is the ‘Pow!’ Get the combo right and watch your brand soar! 💥

In simple terms, branding is the company’s overall image, tone, and feel, as well as what product or service it represents. To establish a strong brand, companies often use a unique color scheme, eye-catching logo, and marketing materials to stand out. Consistency in branding is important to make the brand recognizable across a wide range of products and materials while still accurately representing the company’s offerings. All this needs to be in clear view of the target audience you are trying to communicate it to.

Marketing on another hand is a way to promote the message you’re trying to communicate to your audience. Digital marketing comes in two different forms: digital and traditional. With 59.9% of the population being internet users and low set-up costs digital marketing is usually the preferred option for marketing. Traditional marketing refers to TV advertisements, billboards, print, and merchandise which feels a lot more personal. They’re both ways of building awareness of your brand and the products to the intended audience.

Both branding and marketing come with their own strategies to enhance your brand. Let’s look at some key differences between the two:

• Branding always comes first, it’s something that sticks around for a long time therefore it’s important it’s done right from the start. Decide on what you want your brand to represent, what are your values? What do you bring to the table? Marketing is always second, forever changing just as trends, and marketing strategies come and go, but be careful it sends the right message, you don’t want to accidentally offend someone.

• Branding ensures loyalty and recognition from your audience, it’s an important tool that will reflect you as a brand. Marketing is used to get to that audience and driver sales, a gentle reminder that says “Hey! I’m still here! Remember me?”.

• Marketing is a way to gain the customer’s attention and build up their curiosity. Branding is a way to maintain that attention and keep it through your polished image and core values.

To put it simply, branding is creating a unique identity for a company or product. Marketing is promoting and selling that product or service to the target audience.

Well, we’ve reached the end, now that you know the difference and marketing you are ready to start building (or changing) something captivating people will have a hard time forgetting.
